⭐ 4.0(2 reviews)"Some reviews mentioned slow drive-thru - we went at 10am so that probably helped us have only an 8 minute experience. Other reviews were critical of staff - the gentleman at the drive-thru gave us a friendly welcome, read back what we ordered to be sure it was correct, and wished us a good day. The 12oz sugar free vanilla latte (only SF option) and triple decaf lattes were good. BUT 3☆ is for the 12oz price ($12+) - the highest we've paid for 14+oz at local coffee shops across the nation in the past year (25+ states). Comparable taste/quality for less money is available elsewhere."
"My wife and I have been coming here for years, it is sad to see that the food has declined over the last couple years. Even today, we went in and my wife got a brisket hash with eggs and it was lacking pretty much any brisket. Even my breakfast sandwich was mostly bread and cheese, not much egg and a small sausage patty. It feels like French Press has been cutting corners in the last year across the board with food they offer, even though they charge the same but offer less. I still enjoy French Press for their coffee and atmosphere, but I wouldn't recommend getting food here."
"My favorite!!! La Prima has my heart — especially the Strip District location ☕️ This is the very first La Prima Espresso shop, located at 21st & Penn. It’s also a veteran-owned small business, which makes supporting it even better. With the warmer weather coming, I love seeing people outside playing cards, sipping lattes, and bringing their dogs along. You can grab fresh beans to make at home, enjoy local pastries in the morning (until they sell out), and the baristas are incredibly talented. Such a special spot full of history, community, and really great coffee."
"I am not a fan of chain coffee shops because of the corporations looking for monetar gain (in my opinion) so I look for mo and da coffee stops. This coffee shop defines the coffee experience that I look for. The atmosphere is just modern coffee shop without screaming "IM A COFFEE SHOP!!" It gives the rustic feel but yet is enjoyable. Prices are reasonable for what I'd expect for a coffee shop with a small drip being 2.75 and large espresso milkshake 6.70 so as a black coffee drinker, this is great for me. With everything said, this is the coffee shop for me when in SF."
"This is the OG coffee spot in pittsburgh and for a good reason. The cafe itself is pretty simple, looking with some chairs and tables on the outside for you to enjoy the coffee. Their coffee is top notch, and in fact for my coffee at home, I only get coffee from La Prima. Got the vanilla latte and as expected, it was very good. Just the right amount of syrup. It was little pricey though. They don’t carry a lot of food, but then you can just go next door and get amazing pastries and pies and pizzas. Whenever I want a good reliable coffee to go, this is my spot."
